II (/Pj —- Thej attempted escape and capture of Hi least seven German seamenfrom the government interment camp at Fort Stanton has been dis-closed.A Aourqc, who asked that his identity be withheld, reported border patrolmen - guarding the camp apprehended five seamen in an automobile on Devil's canyon road Tucfcday-night and returned them to camp with the help of a Ruidoso resident. Two others were reported captured at Capitan yesterday.U. S. immigration officials, although acknowledging there have broil frequent unsuccessful al-Lcr.bplo of the seamen to leave the camp, declined to comment on late reports of attempted escapes,The seamen involved in the escape attempts are among some 400 crew members from the scuttled 1 German liner Columbus, who were interned under the status of distressed seamen.
