Kear, of this town, | Lieutenant Commander in the United »BStates Navy, has been ordered to report j at Norfolk, Virginia, to assume com- j mand of five hundred men and to pro- j ceed to San Francisco, preparatory to i gailing for China where the country is in a rebellious state and the presence of American troops is demanded to safeguard the life and property of eiti-ens of this country, Lieut. Hear will 5 be in charge of a station there for a j period of three years. 'The men of the Methodist congrega- j tion of Decatur are making preparations to organize a brotherhood.
