SPANISH-AMERICAN WAR VETSORGANIZE ELi CLAMPITT CAMPLEBANON BOYS EXPECT TO ENTERTAIN NEXT STATE ENCAMPMENT—OFFICERS.Eighteen Spanish-American war veterans of Boone county met at the office of Dr. G. A. Schultz last Thursday night and enrolled as charter members of Eli Clampitt Camp, No. 49, of the Spanish-American War Veterans. The local camp is named after Eli Clampitt, the first Boone county boy to enlist in the war, and the only one to lose his life in battle in the Philippine Islands.Senior Vice Department Commander Charles Maxwell, of Indianapolis, and Department Commander F. J. Walsh, of Lafayette, installed the following officers of the local c Commander, Elmer Vanarsdall; senior vice-commander, Clayton Rosen-crance; junior-commander, J. A. Sunderland; officer of the day, Ed S. Harvey; officer of the guard, Fred Spray; adjutant, Charles SlusBer; quartermaster, Charles Powell; trustees, Dr. J. H. Black, for three-year term; Dr. G. A. Schultz, for two-year term; Paul O. Tauer, for one-yearterm. .The next meeting of the state encampment of the Spanish-American War Veterans may be held in this city, and it is desired that every veteran enroll with the local camp.tlr
