No tv the world may know they 're thankf ul. proudBvPAT SMITH Courier Times Staff WriterAfter 20 years, the last of the Tosti boys has come home from war and Mr and Mrs. Richard J Tosti of 343 Barrv Place in Bristol are very thankful.The couple has watched, over the last 20 years, as one after another of their five sons has gone off to serve his country It started with Richard Jr. who served with the U.S. Navy during the Korean conflict and ended two weeks ago when Gary Tosti came home from Vietnam.Now. a billboard on Old Route 13 south of Mill St. in Bristol tells the world how thankful the Tosti family is for the safe return of their sons.Daily Prayers ‘ When the kids were drafted one at a time. Mrs. Tosti explained. I said my dailv pravers. I have great faith in praver. I promised God I’d thank him publiclv if the boys all came home safe.“I am most thankful because, you know the law of averages, there was a chance one of the bovs wouldn't make it. The TostLs. lifelong residents of Bristol, have raised a family of five bovs and five girls. The boys are allgraduates of Bristol High School.After Richard Jr.. the next to go was Robert who was an airman with the Air Force William Tosti joined the Navy and saw action in the Rav of Pigs in Cuba.Twin Brother Edward. Gary's twin brother, served with the famed First Air Cavalry Division in Vietnam and came home with a Bronze Star.Gary, stationed in a headquarters operation in Saigon, came home Nov. 23 with a citation.The Tostis started thinking about how they could share their joy and make public their gratitude Thev came up with the billboard idea and Bristol businessman Leon Plavin. who owns the billboard, took care of all the details for them Mrs. Tosti is proud her sons served their country, expecially in Vietnam.When asked what she thought about the war. she answered. “I think we should be there.
