FIRST CLAIM FOR A PENSIONFiled by a Hamilton Soldier TodayJohn Synj'mes, who Served Inithe Second KentuckyCUJmt Cam pen pit fort for h!l DlliWII* tf Throufh an Attack of Typhoid Malaria—Two Tambera of Company E, Alio Preparing Claim*.The first claim submitted by a Hamilton soldier for a pension for disability incurred in the Spanish American war was forwarded to CommiBaioner of Pensions H, Clay Evans, by Pension Agent George A- Yandegrifr today. The claim is in behqlf of JohnSymmep, 19, of 1309 Chestnut Btreefc, who served through the war inthe Second Kentucky volunteers. Symmee military career took him tp many of the Southern Camps, and while stationed at Camp Thomas he contracted Typhoid Malaria, which be-came quite serious soon after. He was very ill at Tampa.Young Synames was a machinist at the Niles Tool Works company, but since his return he has never recovered his health sufficiently to resume his formei occupation, and ia now at his home in this city. The penaion allowance for service in the recent waT ia from $0 to $100 per month, according to rank and disability, Symmes hopes to get a substantial award.None of the members of Company E, have yet applied for pensions, but papers will noon be prepared in behalf of two privates, who were ill during their service.
