UniformitcitITHESE FOUR Idaho Falls men have entered the army through the Salt Lake City army station, after having been recruited through the Idaho Falls recruiting station. They are, left to right, Laurell A. Quinton, Dean Oliverson, J. P. Griggs and Lynn Phelps, all of Idaho Falls.Four Enter ArmyFour Idaho Falls men have entered the army through the Idaho Falls army recruiting station and have been accepted in Salt Lake City, Utah, it was announced here Thursday.The enlistees include Lynn Phelps, 17, 1500 Curtis avenue; Dean Oliverson, 25, 285 G street; Jay Griggs, 18, route 2; and Laurell A. Quinton, 17, 448 H street.Phelps is the son of Mrs. Mary Ann Struks, route 2, Rigby; ‘Oliverson is the son of Mrs. Janett Green, Idaho Falls; Griggs i3 the son of Preston Griggs, route 2, Idaho Falls; and Quinton is the son of Mrs. Mary Quinton, Idaho Falls.The three 17 year old boys are entering the army for the first j time while Dean Oliverson has had ! prior military service. He servedwith the air corps for six years and holds the good conduct medal, 1 Asiatic-Pacific ribbon, pre Pearl Harbor ribbon, and two stars. He I has a brother in the service.Phelps attended the Idaho Falls high school and was employed by the Idaho Potato Growers before entering the services; Griggs attended the Ammon high school; and Quinton was employed as a ' potato worker.Returns to U. S.Pfc. Kenneth Udell, Idaho Falls, has returned to the United States from the European theatre of operations, according to information received here Friday from the Associated Press.Private Udell arrived in Newport New’s, Ya„ December 4 aboard the Joseph Gale.This column is devoted to news of East Idaho men and women now serving in the armed forces.
