MISSING; NOW SAFEWord was received Wednesday from the War Department stating that Pfc. Julius Lardie, son of Mr. and Mrs. Fred Lnrdle of this city, was missing In action. Today they received a letter from Pfc, Lardle stating that he Is in a hospital In France after having been wounded In the shoulder by German machine gun fire. Young Lardie was recently awarded a medal for his ability In combat and was cnce, during training, cited as being an outstanding example of soldierly bearing and ability.
