The streets in this section are about fifteen dr twenty feet wide, so built as to bebetter defended.The main feature of Ploermel is perhaps the cathedral of Saint Armel | which stands in the center of town. jThe building itself is “only” eight | hundred years old—but on the {ground it covers has stood a church for 1800 years. The stained glasswindows are magnificent. Nothing Iever saw in America approaches them. The interior is a large square from which four wings branch out, forming a cross.
