I am writing to give you a description of the old city of Ploermel. This city is very old and has in both the French and English history a place. The provinces, especially Bretagne, was the debatable ground in the time; of Jeanne D’Are, when both countries claimed it. At one time it was an independent country under Queen Anne of Brittany. Part of the old j city wall is still standing after eleven centuries, the town itself having been founded about the third century A.;D.The houses are all of stone, someof them very ancient looking, on the Rue La Yal I saw one house with the date 1347 carved over the door.■a mAcross the street from it is another house with the date 1466.
