] Washing ton, Dec. 3.—Six members ' jt• of the second officers’ training campI at Ft. Benjamin Harrison, which re- r; ivntly was ended, attended their own• graduation into the class of officers, n( ‘ only to find that they were not gradu-' ales, it developed here today. p;1 Two of these six. Lester Moorman, p; lt;f Indianapolis, and Joseph f’. (dark. j;lt;• of Spencer, have taken their cases up j] - with the war department in the hope• of receiving commissions that were cj 1 denied them through technicalities.r It seems that all of the six were rec-l- ommended for commissions in the ’ n0 quartermaster’s department. I ]jf Moorman was recommended for; j n first lieutenant and Clark for a cap- jr ' taincy. Just before the graduation, ■ tis however, it was learned that the war• department had prohibited further r commissions in the quartermasters corps, and as it was too late to com- \ ° mission the six in any other branch,'y they were left out altogether. j Ql Clark formerly was a major in the! Indiana national guard, and resigned p : last January to take a place clerk . y i of the Owen circuit court. Despit- . ^ e-! the fact that his training makes him ly a highly valuable man for the war de-y | partment, it seems that he will be left : out unless some later arrangement ! can be made.h.
