is crowned yueen At HomecomingDance In The Evening Is Successful And EnjoyableThe first homecoming in the annals of Western at the Bethalto game was a great success. The seven nominees for queen were voted on theI night before.At the game the suspense was great as the cadets and spectators awaited the announcement of the winners. Cheers and applause rang across the I field as the queen and two attendantsentered in new Corvettes driven by members of the Alton Corvette Club. They were driven around the track to a special stand where they were received by a committee of cadets.The three girls selected were lovely. The queen was Miss Patricia Van Voorest of Belleville, sponsored by Cadet Joynt. The first attendant was Miss Jackie Linebarger of Belleville, sponsored by Cadet Pete Hill, and the second attendant was Miss Karen Keber of Granite City, sponsored by Cadet 'Mark Dufner.Col. R. B. Jackson crowned the queen and her attendants. They were then driven to the bleachers and escorted to their places by the cadets
