Clayton, now In Maine, enlisted In the array at St. Paul, Minnesota, with her husband, in 1861, and fought by his side until he was killed at the battle of Stone River. She has been in eighteen battles, once a prisoner, and three times wounded. After her husband's death, alio made known her sex to her General and was discharged.
