The Air Force plane, carrying a crew of five, suffered a damaged propeller andgashed fuselage. The Navy plane, a two-engined Beecheraft trainer j with three men aboard, had part of its tail assembly tom away.There were no Injuries reported.An Air Force spokesman said the transport, a C54 Skymaster, j was returning to Brooks Air Force Base in Texas from Travis on a routine training flight. Navy officials said the Beecheraft was on an instrument training flight.Cause of the collision has not been determined. Crews of both | n planes each said the. other craft smashed into its plane.The C54 returned to Travis after the accident and landed without incident. The Navy plane reported difficulty In maneuvering due to the iofis of one of its double rudders, but it landed safely at the Alameda Naval Air Station.
