— — ■ ■- : War Plant Quard, Veteran Of Solomons, Qets Citation ,Raymond A, Ihme, 427 W 65th pi., was given the Purple Heart at ceremonies yesterday in Ogden park fieldhouse during a meeting of the auxiliary military police who are trained there as war plant guards. The Purple Heart was presented by Lt. John D. Krisor, commander of the 12th area of the Sixth Service command.Ihme, a war plant guard and former soldier, was decorated for rounds he received November 26. 1942, while serving in the Solomon islands.War plant guards are given mili*tary training by Lieutenant Krisor and his staff in the Ogden park headquarters. After completing a | course of basic training they are ( eligible to become members of the auxiliary militaiy police.The Purple Heart Ihme received was originally established as a decoration by George Washington ' on August 7, 1762, during the Rev- • olution Revived by the War de* t partment February 22, 1922, the i 200th anniveisarv of Washington's : birth, the award is made to honor l a soldier's bravery in action.
