»■ ■■■ ■ • wMi*. John Surber, who tesides southwest of New Marion, this county, was before the Board of Pension Examiners at North Vernon last week. Mr. Surber is a very old man, having: been bom July 14th, 1798. He was at the battle of New Orleans, January 8, 1815, under General Jackson. He was likewise a member of Co. H, Tenth Indiana Volunteers, in (he war of the rebellion. He is in fair health and has never taken but five doses of medicine in his life. He is well preserved and promises to round out a full century. We suppose when the next Congress commences their work to weed out the pension roll, they will hardly drop out the old man. i
