Jewell,, hasm % mbeen killed' in action in Vietnam, ins parents' learned Saturday.Jameson was attached to ECbo,:Company, . 2nd . Battalion, 296th Light Infantry Brigade, America! Division, .which for several days has been battling the ; enemy in the rolling 'hills of the Scmg Chang valley 31 . miles southwest- of Da- Nang.Jameson was killed Wednesday daring a combat operation in the area.He was bom June 16, 1S50, in Salina and was a lifelongresident. He graduated - from Salina high school in 1968.He volunteered for the draft and entered the Army Nov. 18, 1968. He went to .Vietnam May ' 18.icj FishvPfc. Rodger JamesonHe was a member o£ St. Jchn’s Lutheran Church.Also surviving are a brother, •Richard, McPherson; a sister, Rhonda, of the home, and the maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. Elmer Humbarger, 3S2 N.
