PREPARING TO FIRE—A group of Cent rail a-Salem area men prepare to fire a 105 mm howitzer during a training problem with the 102nd Infantry Division at Camp McCoy, Wisconsin. The unit recently completed its annual two weeks summer field training at the Wisconsin Post. The men are (left to right): PFC Bobby Bloom, Rte. 1. Holden; SFC William Cortelyou, 1022 E. All are members of Battery C, 927th Field Artillery Battalion, a Centralia area unit. A 105 mm howitzer must be properly put into position before any firing can begin.
