Slemsek of Bishop, who was killed in action south of the Demilitarized Zone in Vietnam Aug. 20. He was 21.Pfc. Slemsek was a member of the 501st Infantry, 101st Airborne Division, based at Bien Hoa. He had entered the U.S. Army in March of this year and arrived in Vietnam July 31.He was born Aug. 16,. 1948, in Long Beach, but spent most of his life in Bishop and graduated from Bishop Union HighSchool in 1966.He was the 11th Inyo County man to die in the Vietnamese war and the seventh from Bish-UIop. ! (Survivors include his parents,! ( Mr. and Mrs. A. F. Slemsek;!lt; a brother, Lt. Frank Saxton, U.S. Army, Korea; a sister, Sal-lie Slemsek, San Francisco, and his maternal grandparents, Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Locke, Santa Paula.
