IN THE SERVICES'Mrs. Vernia Thomas Fielder, of near Troy, whose son, Pfc. Eugene Jake Thomas, had been previously reported missing in ac-toin, has received official notice that he was killed in action in France on July 8. He was with the 330th Infantry. Pfc. Thomas enlisted on January 23, 1941 and had been overseas since April 1944. He was 26 years of age, the youngest son of Mrs. Fielder.
