MILITARYFROM PAGE 11with other soldiers from various companies within the 2nd Battalion, 15th Field Artillery Regiment, are members of the 2nd Brigade Combat Team, 10th Mountain Division (Light Infantry) at Fort Drum,All of the soldiers were awarded the Global War on Terrorism Medal, the Global War on Terror-ism Expeditionary Medal and the National Defense Service Medal for their participation in Operation Iraqi Freedom.Soldiers of the 10th Mountain Division conducted defensive and offensive operations and infrastructure reinforcement and trained Iraqi national guard battalion members. By the end of their deployment, the soldiers were responsible for military operations for almost half of Baghdad.Maxwell, an all-source intelligence analyst, has served two years in the military.He is the son of Mark and Gina D. Maxwell of Abilene.He is a 2000 graduate of Abilene High School.NAVY: Petty Officer 3rd Class Ross Goodwin, son ofSharen Steele of Lawrence and Bob Goodwin of Gypsum, and Petty Officer 3rd Class Adam Taylor, son of Rexann Craig and Michael Taylor, both of Concordia, recently graduated from the Naval Nuclear Power Training Program while assigned as a student to Naval Nuclear PowerTraining Unit, Ballston Spa, N.Y.During the. program, Goodwin and Taylor received basic and hands-on training in the operation of a nuclear reactor. •fThe program runs from 1 % to 2 years, and there are numerous academic milestones that must be met. Upon graduating, Goodwin earned the qualification of nuclear operator.Goodwin is a 1995 graduate of Lawrence High School. He joined the Navy in December 2003.Taylor is a 2003 graduate of Concordia High School and joined the Navy in January 2004.%ARMY: Spec.
