NAVY NEWSMarcey L. Britt Schryer, daughter of George and Laura Schryer of Alto and the lateflay Britt of La Mesa, TX, hasbeen promoted to Petty Officer 3rd Class.Britt is a 1992 graduate of Capitan High School. In her third year with the Navy,Britt is serving on the USS Comstock which is now docked in San Diego.Britt’s promotion was based on achievements and how sheaccomplished various duties. She scored above standards inseven categories, with an overall above standards rating.She was commended as being a self-motivated workerwith unlimited potential. She has emerged as a leader among her peers and shows the stamina, professionalism and ability to excel as a petty officer, wrote the senior rateron June 15, 1996.Britt has traveled around the world with the Navy. She served one year in Adack, Alaska, then was transferred to the USS Comstock. Shewas aboard ship during the1995 West Pack exercises which took her to such ports as Hong Kong, Singapore, two and half months in the Persian Gulf, Israel and Egypt,then back through to Australia and Hawaii.In December the Comstock returned to San Diego. The ship is scheduled to go out for west pack exercises with similar ports of call in 1997.
