Ewing-Jones Auxiliary Installs New Officers At Meeting This WeekNew officers of the American Legion Auxiliary, Ewing-Jones Post 112, were elected and installed at a meeting Thursday night in the home of the retiring president, Mrs. Mary Smith.Officers for the coming year are Mrs. Ivan Bowers, president; Mrs. James Anthony, first vice president; Mrs. Mary Smith, second vice president;Mrs. Thelma Gamble, secretary; Mrs. Gazelle Newman, treasurer; Mrs. Charles Lewis, historian; Mrs. Captolia Lopez,chaplain; Mrs. Albert Henderson, sergeant-at-arms.Committee chairmen appointed by Mrs. Bowers are: Mrs.Grace Frye, Girls State; Mrs. Frances Black, Americanism; Mrs. LeRoy Harris, legislation; Mrs. Gamble, publicity; Mrs. Dorothy Green, music; Mrs.Charlene Coleman, child welfare; Mrs. Walter Monroe, radio and television; Mrs. Gazelle Newman, constitution and bylaws; Mrs. Frances Logan, poppies; Mrs. Anthony, foreign relations; Mrs. Lola Newman, junior activities; Mrs. Smith, Past Presidents Parley; Mrs. Lopez, rehabilitation; Mrs. Kathryn Newman, education and scholarship; Mrs. Margaret Logan, Civil Defense; Mrs. Helen Ware, community service; Mrs. Marcella Moore, membership; Mrs. Alberta Henderson, national security.The next meeting of the Auxiliary is at 8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 8 in the Police-Fire building, 8th and Vt. Sts.DAYS TO MEETINGThree members of the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary, Jayhawk chapter 22, attended the executive board meeting of Kansas Department of the DAV Auxiliary Saturday and Sunday at Hutchinson. Attending were Mrs. E. C. Neu-stifter, Mrs. Lucy Messenheim-er and Mrs. Norman Denton.They were accompanied by Mr. Denton who also attended some of the sessions.
