JOHN TRUMAN HENDERSON (Written for Times-Mirror)John Truman Henderson died at 1 a. m. Tuesday, Aug. 14, following: an illness of five years duration. He had been seriously ill since last January.The deceased, son of the late Mr. And Mrs. James S. Henderson and Nancy Prather Henderson, was born at East Hickory, Nov. 15. 1875. He left there, as a young man, and went South, where he was engaged in lumber business in Missouri, North Carolina and Louisiana. He was at one time gen- j lt;nal manager of the Missouri Tie and Timber Company and later became general manager of the Wid- ! kin River Valley Railroad. IHe returned from the south about-twenty years ago and went Into the contracting business for , himself. He has resided at the R. F. D. 5 address for the past nine j years. jThe deceased is survived by his wife, Mrs. Grace Henderson; four children, Mrs. Stafford Johnson, Titusville; Ned A. Henderson, Titusville; J. Thomas Henderson, R.chmond, Vt* and Mrs. Harold j Slichter, at home; a sister, Mrs. N. j E. Holmes at Meadville, eight j grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.He was a past master of the Olive Masonic Lodge, of Tionesta. and a member of the Commandery and Consistory in North Carolina.In 1889, he was married to Edith ! Jackson who preceded him in death I in 3916. He married Grace Wright ! of Erie, in 1918.Funeral services in charge of Rev. Kimber Belig, were held in j the Chester A. Sehaal funeral home, and interment was made in the family burial lot in Riverview cemetery at East Hickory after services were held at the Methodist church at that place, with Rev. :K. Rplig and Rev. H. Stevenson in charge.The pall bearers were Thomas i and Ned Henderson, Stanford Johnson, Harold Schlichter, Frank Haag, and Frank Schrimper. Relatives and friends from Oil City,Richmond, Va., Warren, Erie, Titusville. Meadville, and Tidioute, Here present.
