CorporalThos. Muldoon, now in Bordeaux,France, tilling further of the battle hewa« in wherein he received woundsmentioned in a recent issue of this paper:“July 24, 1918. Dear Mother and All:Received Agnes’ letter of June 26th and also Frank's of the same date, and also Edna's letter of introduction on the 2nth of July at 3 p. m. After reading it 1 never thought I would have a chance to uso it but as things turned out the n^xt day I was glad I kept it, so thank Edna when you write to her. We fired a heavy barrage on Fritz from 4 am. to 6:30 b m., July 21st, and then pulled up closer to the front and galloped into an open field that was being shelled by 210’s and went into action.The battery next to us deserted their guns and we all agreed to stick Milthey blew us up and blow us up they did. Only two men in our squad gotaway without a scratch, and we hadsent them into a trench to take ourplace when we got it. but the gun wasout of commission when they got us I got it in the left shoulder and was pretty lucky as the fallow right in back of me was killed outrighc We surely gave!them hell while we lasted and all the Americans up here are making good and are not the amateurs the Germans saythey are. There aren't many killed onour, side, mostly wounded. Everybody! is laughing about it. They handle you with silk gloves and the Red (Toss sure deserves a lot of credit, the Red Cross hospital in about twelve hours and was to Bordeaux Base Hospital the western coast of France allowed to mention any town behind the zone of advance.Send my mail to the same address. I am able to walk around and so far have had only dressings but I will be O. K in good time, so don’t worry.
