POLISH FLAG .■ '« * .Carried Beside Stars and Stripes in Parade Sunday AfternoonThe Polish national flag was seen for the first time in the streets of Maynard Sunday afternoon, when with the American flag it was borne through the streets escorted ty the full membership of tlla Society of Our Lady of St. Casimir’s Cath ic church.Poland’s flag, dark red with a white eagle, side by side with the Stars and Stripes, with the members marching in full regalia, paraded from the I. O. O. F. hall on Nason st. through the principal streets of the town to the music of martial airs played by the National band. * ;Six little girls, dressed in white,! carried the service flag of the society. The flag contained $9 stars, commemorating the Polish residents of Maynard in service, 31 of whom are in the American forces and eight attached to [ the Polish Legions.William Zenenicz was marshal of jthe» parade and John Dzerkacz, president of Our Lady’s society, was aide.Following the parade patriotic speeches were made at the hall, where the speakers urged the purchase of War Sayings •Stamps and Liberty bonds. The sum of $10 was collected for the benefit of Maynard Red' Cross.
