J, W. Reynolds, 31, Negro, 205 East Mill St., died at 3:55 a.m. today at the Elm Street Ho-.pital and i Clinic of bullet wounds received two hours earlier following an argument with another Negro at the Midnight Owl Cafe on East prairie St.A charge of murder was filed today by County Attorney W. K. Baldridge against Arthur Washington, Negro. 100 Wood St, Baldridge said Washington signed a confession admitting that he killed Reynolds, The shooting occurred at 1:20 a. in. on Skinner street after both Reynolds and Washington had left the dance hall in separate cars. Baldridge said Washington told him he drove to the home of a Negro girl on Skinner street, alter he had first fired three shots at another Negro, William Goodner. on East ! Prairie street. None of the bullets struck Goodner.! Reynolds drove up to the same address on Skinner street, parked across the street and got out of his cat and started cursing, according to the story Washington told Baldridge. Washington said he then fired at Reynolds and he fell. Washington went to a mill near | the railroad tracks and told a railroad engineer of the shooting. He was arrested there by Sheriff Roy Moorr and City Policeman Wiley Barnes. Washington was still being held in the county jail at noon .today.
