I atr-«en decorated two Marines for •‘Coiisjncuou? gallantry/’ and “extraordinary heroism^ during action in the South Pacific. The men decorated are Sergeant Gerard B. Nevle, 006 Egarwa street, New Orleans, Louisiana, and Master Gunnery Sergeant Jcmbi* H. Glover of Gaaton, South Carolina.Sergt. Nevle was awarded theNavy Cross and a citation which read as fallows:“During action against enemy ‘Japanese forces off the coast of Tulagi, on, the night of September 9, 1942, with his ship illuminated by the enemy and hostile gunfire causing violent explosion of shells inside the magazine directly beneath his battle station, he remained on board, manned n J the practically demolished l ridge B and set the vessel on a Sachin7 totrse. Later he again risked his s j life to administer first-aid to his e wounded shpimates, assisting in Aheir evacuation to protected i areas/*s Master Gunnery Sergeant Clov-* ^r, 40-vear-otd father of four* children, was awarded the Silver d Star and a citation which read a* s I follows:“While scouting an area on Tulagi Island on Augruat 1942, he iOiiageously led a~ group of- | twenty volunteers into a house- from which enemy snipers were- firinFc skillfully threw a hand-grenade, ki.lirg three Japanese. In addition, he ^fearlessly entered a cave.
