Lieut. Schuler Is Honored for 15-Year ServiceOne of the two original members •f the first enlistment of the Wisconsin national guard in Janesville since the World war. First Lieutenant Lester W. Schuler, was presented with the bronze long-serv-lce medal at the Armory Monday night, marking 15 yeara of military service. Standing in front of the long line of men, the majority of whom lie has instructed at some time or other, Lt. Schuler received his award from Capt. Wilbert K. Ryan, commander ot the 3-nd Tank company.During the presentation ceremonies which followed the regular weekly drill period, the record of the veteran Tank company man was read to the company ranks. Congratulations were offered by Capt. Ryan. Staff Sgt. Fred Bruni will be in line for the medal about the first of the year.Inst ructions in handling and servicing of the new trucks, which are now* used by the W. N. G. fortransportation, made up the greater pait of the Monday night drill. Close order drill and school ofpla toon were also held.The regular three-month checks were distributed following drill. This does not include the camp period pay which is given separately.Three members. Sgt. Paul P. Dooley. Pvts. lcl. Cletia Opie andFrank Stritof. were tppointed totake care of the flag raising ceremonies during the two nights of the 4-H fair pageant at the fairgrounds.A set of twins, Henry and JohnLuther, joined the Tank company at the drill. This is the first time in the history of the unit thattwins have enlisted.
