Evers Is NamedSergeant MajorMarine Sgt. Cornelius J. Evers, 7602 Beech Ave., Hammond, has been named Sergeant Major of the 25th Rifle Company, USMCR. He is relieving T. Sgt. George F, Har-dardt, 4902 E. 10th Ave„ Gary, who has. been transferred to the Headquarters of Force Troops at Camp Lejeune, N.C.During World War II, M. Sgt. Evers served aboard the U.S.S. Portland and with the Second Armored Amphibian Battalion. In Korea, h.e was sergeant major of 1st Egineer Battalion, and then wag sent to the Air Wing at El Toro, Calif.
