Twenty-seven years ago Bernard Snyder came ro Orrville anti went to work for the firm where his father was employed, the Snyder Oil Company. His job was in the filling station. Fourteen years lalter Bernard purchased the station and operated it until 1949 under the name of Snyder Service Station.His ability to make friends and not being afraid of hard work prompted him to purchase the Pontiac business from Hudson Hall which was then known as Hall Pontiac the newowner took over July 1, 1949.Hampered by a poor location and small quarters, Bernard Snyder Pontiac leased the building which was the collar department of Ellsworth-Haffner Co. The building was remodeledc 'and show and display windows were installed.Bernard Snyder handles the famous Pontiac 6’s and 8 s. The service department is complete in every detail and factory trained mechanics, in charge of I.eroy Horst, are employed. The parts department carries a full line of Genuine Pontiac Parts.In the Service Department they are equipped to give minor adjustments or a complete overhaul and reconditioning for any make car.1The body and paint departments have experts in their respective lines They also operate a 24-hour wrecking serivce and are authorized wrecking service for the Automobile Club.rIn connection with the auto business, Bernard is a Deputy—Photos By R B StudioRegistrar of Motor Vehicles, selling licenses for driving and for cars and trucks.Bernard belongs to the Chamber of Commerce, ExchangeClub, and is a 32nd degree Mason. He is a candidate for mayor of Orrville in the ball election.Recently Mr. Snyder took over the former Srrock’s Service Station, next to Pontiac Garage, which has been re-named Bernies Solvio Service Station and is managed by William' Bill'* Gchring.
