225 Erie OrphansPlace Wreath onVincent MonumentTwo hundred and twenty-five I ganizations along the »*oute.orphan hoys from four institutions in Erie, accompanied by Erie city and county officials, toured the battlefield, Thursday afternoon, as quests of the Battlefield Guides’ association. Traveling in seven large busesand six automobiles, the partycame here from Frederick, arriving about mid-afternoon. Alter an hour on the battlefield, the party left for Carlisle, where an over-night stop was made.W reath Is Placed When the party reached Little Round Top, a wreath was placedon the bronze figure of Col. St long Vincent, a native of Erie, who commanded a brigade, and who was wounded on LittleHound Top on the afternoon of •luly 2,'1 he guides who furnished their services free for the tripover the battlefield were Rufus H. Bushman, president of the guides’ association; Walter Reynolds, Harry Rhine, WilliamShealer, Joseph Breighner andLe-lie Vaughn,I ra'el 1500 Mile*«*The party, comprising Protlt;tant, Catholic, Jewish and negro orphans, left Erie August 8, and has visited West Point, New York, Trenton, Valley Forge, Philadelphia, Baltimore, Annapolis, Washington and Frederick. They expect to reach Erie Saturday. The trip covers 1,500 miles and was made possible through the generosity of readers of theErie Daily Times and various or-The trip last year was givenby the paper for newsboys andbootblacks, but this year was forboys of St. Joseph’s Home, El wood Home, Boys’ Protectory and Home of the Friendless of Erie environs. Boys of various nationalities including 12 colored boys composed the party whichwas in charge of Thomas J. Sterrett, sheriff of Erie county, and column rst on the Erie Ibrity Himes, assisted by a group of citizens of Erie, two Erie policemen, an Episcopal rector, a priest, a member of the fire department, a physician and two nurses.Have RetinueAmong those in charge of the party, in addition to Sheriff Sterrett, were: John J.
