There were men in the company to vhom going to camp was only tame iport, since they have gone away to war md experienced the true seriousness of things military. There was a time when soldiering was their daily occupation, with the novelty of it all worn off, but this is all a memory now and the real pleasure of their stay iu camp will doubtless come in recalling incidents of last summer when the First Wisconsin was a part of Ron. Leo’s Seventh army corps at Camp Cuba Libre, Jacksonville. Then there are recruits who will learn just as much from their veteran comrades in the one week in camp as if they had been to war themselves, only they will not half realize what real army life is like. Some of the returned soldiers did not always have uniforms that they were proud of and it will he no effort for their minds to drift back and think of the times when there was no fun in carrying n gun for Uncle Ram. All their experience, however, has only started a hankering to live it over again and they will welcome the army regulations that will be enforced in camp thin year. The opportunity to renew old acquaintances among the First regi-, ment men will also be a pleasure.The rccrnits in Co. H are in it ho numerous as are the old members of the war company. They are well advanced in the manual of arms and add to the military appearance uf the company.The soldiers had many friends at the depot and what leavetaking there wag done was all on the quiet. Willie Holmos Matti Oehmen, L. P. Miller mid Clement 7iOj)hy were thrown up. Two blankets were ripped and in sending Zophy on his aerial flight the blanket parted in the middle.Lieut. IP. T. Odell was detailed as juuior officer of the guard Saturday night and at 2 o'clock Sunday morningho received orders to take ?i detail uf men to town to quell a disturbance. The trouble, however, was nearly all over and no arrests were made.Privates Burns, A. L. Booher, Ward Barker, Fred Beckor and Ed.
