Mrs. Elliott before her marriage was Miss Ida MeMahel, of English.The boys’ maternal grandfather. the late William MeMahel, was a L'nion soldier during the Civil War. Or. the paternal aide of the family six great-unclea wore the blue, one givirg his life for the Union.Erneit Elliott. 26 years old, enlisted in the regular army April i7. 1917, eleven days after the declaration of war against Germany. He landed inFrance, April V. 13H. Writing to his parents he say-: I like to soldier andwe have fine officers. This sure is the prettiest country I whs ever in. ! think I will live here after tl*.- war is over.” He is serving with Headquarters Company. ,c'- p!-! * A »Frank Elliott, who is 21 year* was sent from Crawford county t.j aselective to Camp Zachary Taylor Of- I tober 21, 1917. For several months he j I has been training with the Goth En-j l gineers Corps at WorgretCamp, Ware-, \ ham, Dorset, England. He writes that his present comrades are all boy« whom he has met since entering the Engineers’ Corps; they are fine fellows. \He says that his studies are interest-j ir.g and that he is enjoying his training, j but is anxious to reach France where he may meet his brother Ernest. He; says, in asking about the celebration of j the Fourth at home, to tell the folks £ that he will help them celebrate next' _ 3ear aid may be home for Christmas.Fonnie Elliott, although but 16 year* j j old, was anxious to join his brother*, so, with his parents’ consent, he en- c listed in the army May 17, 1918.
