Twenty-Seventh Annual ReunionToday is the second “big day of the Twenty-Seventh Annual Reunion of the soldiers of the Civil and Spanish-American Wars, being held here. The reunion began Wednesday andwill close tomorrow. Wednesday, a fair crowd was in attendance. Yesterday, several thousand people were on the grounds and even a larger crowd is expected today. Tomorrow will be the time to break camp and say good bye, and the crowd will not be so large. The reunion for the past twenty-seven years has been a ! home-coming time for former Crawford county people sojourning in other places. Here they meet relatives and old friends and talk I over times that have passed. Many old soldiers are in camp, but the ranks grow thinner with each passing year. However, they enjoy every minute of the time they spend together, and they may be seen in groups of twos and threes and more telling war time stories talking over the battles they have fought together and the victories they won. The English Citizens’ Band furnished music yesterday and will do so today, and the music was excellent and enjoyed by all. There excellent speeches each day by prominent men of English and other places. The merry-go-round is here, doing an excellent business, catering to the children and several of theHf:grown-ups as well The fortune tellers are also here and you may have your palm read if yott so desirfT Then there are the_ lernon-ideataads, ftsfc frys, 'arfSfifcr places 'of refreshments, where the “inner man” may be satisfied. Baby racks, shows, dancing and other amusements are on every side, so that one need not spend a dull moment during the day. The reunion has become a fixed institution here, and the thoughts of all turn to reunion's pleasures when the month of August arrives
