Sikeston National GuardsmenLeave Saturday for CampThe main portion of the Sikeston Headquarters and Headquarters Company of the 140th Infantry of the National Guard will start on their annual two weeks encampment at Camp Ripley, Minn., beginning at 4:30 a.m. Saturday, Commanding Officer Bruce Lewis announced here today. ,The men will leave Sikeston at that time by bus, and from there will travel to Dexter. After assembling there they will leave Dexter at 7:50 a.m. by train and will arrive in Camp Ripley at 2 p.m. Sunday.The men who will make the tripare Lt. Col. Herbert L. Wickham, Major Lew'is H. Conley, Capt. Robert H. Hunter, Capt. Charles Wofford, 1st Lt. Bruce Lewis, 1st Lt. Hal F. Robertson, 1st Lt. Herbert M. Stone, 2nd Lt. Ernest Inman, Warrant officer Harvey L. Thompson of Sikeston.The elderly Negro Methodist minister was carried away by the swift current and drowned as the Dixie Greyhound bus was hit bv waters of flooded Ramsev Creek near Ancell, Mo. His bodv was found hours after the accident, some 150 yards from the bus’ position.
