MACHINIST’S MATE — John E. Asplund, chief machinist's mat* in the United States coast guard,who spent 16 months aboard cutters in the Alaskan and Aleutian area, has been assigned duty aboard a coastal j craft in the 13th naval district, it was announced todey in Seattle. He has just returned from a visitwith his wife, Ola, 1614 14th, andhis father who lives in Houston.Chief Asplund. a former member of the lighthouse service, has been on active duty since 1932.
