The board certified them as members of the new national army and they are now gubject to call in the first quota of one-third of the division’s number. Under the draft ruling, thes# men automatically arc drafted for failing to appear before the board.T1IK BOARD MEETING MONDAY.The first meeting of the district exemption board will be held at ftbom 405,Federal Building, at 10:30 o’clock Monday morning for the purpose of,hearing appeal claims for exemption or claims not within the jurisdiction of the local boards. Under the latter head comes claims for industrial exemption and similar unusual claims. It is said few exemptions will be made on industrial grounds and that such claims, to be up-, held by the board, must be based upon unusually good grounds.Matt W. Hall, Marshall, Mo., is chairman, and Frank Blake, Kansas City, secretary, of the district board. The other members are Charles A. Sumner,Kansas City; Col. It. M. Bacheller, St.Joseph, and Dr. F. H. Matthews, Liberty.TO OVLIUULK MANY CLAIMS.The board probably will hold a short•-X'M-utivc session before proceeding with the appealed claims Monday morning. At the dosing hour last night none of die local boards had certified to the district board any men making claims for exemption. However, members of several local boards said they practically had decided m lists of men whose claims they will overrule and that the lists probably will be sent to the district board today, it is said the number of overruled claims will be large.Following is a complete list of the men already officially in the national army:,’arl King Tehbe, 620 Olive.
