Sgt. ChGs. A. Mew Killed in ActionS Sgt. Charles A. Mew, 25. brother of Mrs. George L. Low-man of Corpus Christi and a nephew of Lafe Hannes of this city was killed in action in France on July 19, the War Department has notified his sister.Sgt. Mew was a native of Corpus Christi and had attended Schreiner Institute, Corpus Christi Junior College and AI College here. He trained at Camp Roberts. California, and at Charleston. Assigned to the infantry, he was a rifle instructor at Camp Roberts. He went overseas only a short time before the invasion.
