Six conscr*i ts failed to appear for examination These name., will be added to the list of others who failed to appear, following the receipt of the noUces from the examining board.Out of the twenty-eight men whopassed the pnyfical examination, twenty-two claimed exemption, six claimed no exemption. This makes atotal of 267 conscripts who have beenexamined by the boardToday the first third of the third batch of 135 men were civen the phy-j %sical examination. The second th:ruwill be examined tomorrow and the last Cr'-d Saturday. This will end the examinations unless more men have to be called in order to obtain the quota of this district which is t»7.The examination is proceeding on the schedule set by the board when it organized a little over a week ago, and the hastily arranged machinery of examination i* working to perfection.The district appeals board to which will be given the work of exemptions, met yesterday in Poughkeepsie. for organ /.ation.
