From Camp Iilncoln.(Special t orrespondonee).Aug 8.—A second game of base ball was played on the camp grounds yesterday afternoon between the same clubs, nearly, which placed the day before. It is a pool about SO ft. by 100 ft. and 17 ft. deep at the deepest place. There are nice banks or walls, good warm water, aDd altogether it Is a nice bathing place.A swimming match is taking place : this afternoon between a private of Co C and one of Co. BCapt. Anthony has been appointed acting surgeon of the regiment. He lt;consequently has double duty, but he Is equal to it.Jacob Eisele has been under the weather for a day or two, but is much better today.Sergt. Ely’s game foot is resuming its normal condition.Lasj; night shortly after we turned in for the night, Capt. Anthony came to the tent doors and gave tne command to quietly rise and form provost guard, i In a short time 25 men were in Inft and on the move. The cause of all this was that there was a Butch Jbow-ery dance at Krouse park, about two miles from camp, and a very large dele-g ition from the lteg't was in attendance.After being out two or three hours and marching over the most of this part of the State, we, the guard, returned to camp, with six prisoners, all Co. I boys.There were two other guard parties out, and they and the regular guard during the night captured 25 of the boys, including the six before mentioned. Eleven of them are from Co. I, of Morrison, including some with stripes and a Lieutenant, who, with eight men left camp after roll call, contrary to orders.Capt. Colebaugh feels very badly about it, but he 1b not to blame.The guard house was full last night and the boys have extra .duty and disgrace today.Battery A was out with their Gatling guns in the open field yesterday and are on the range today. The Gatling guns are pretty rapid shooters. Each gun shoots 1,200 shots In one minute.There was a very interesting song service at the Y. M. C. A. tent last evening.There are more in the hospital tent this week than any other, during the first part of the week, this summer.Co' E has been oil the drill ground first every time this week, notwithstanding that the (’apt, has always boen at the other end of line.
