Ft. Detrick, MarylandDonald Lutz selected Soldier of the MonthFT. DETRIC, Frederick, Md. Donald H. I.utz of Kidgway is the July Soldier of the Month at Ft. Detrick, Frederick, Md.Specialist Four Lutz is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Karl M. Lutz of Kidgway and is a 1968 graduate of the Kidgway High School.Spec. 4 Lutz holds a bachelor of science degree in Agronomy from the University of Illinois at Champaign, w hich he received in 1972.He entered the service in October 1972 and completed his basic training at Ft. Folk. I.a. From there he received Advanced Individual Training at Ft. I/eonard Wood, Mo.Spec. 4 Lutz was assigned in February 1973 to the Vegetation Control Division of Edgewood Arsenal at Ft. Detrick, where he serves as a Technical Assistant.Prior to entering the service he was the Assistant Manager of the Wabash Valley Service Company, Kidgway.Selection of Soldier of the Month is based on personal appearance, military bearing, knowledge of current events, and other specialized military subjects.About 350 enlisted men at Ft. Detrick are eligible to compete. A nominee to the Post Hoard mustSpec. Don H. Lutzstanding men at Ft. Detrick.His name will also be inscribed on the Soldier of the Month Plaque, which will be kept by his unit until awarded to another.
