MFE ABROAD DOES NOT REMOVE THOUGHTS OF BACK HOME DOINGS—NAVAB AVIATION LETTER.Altho there is over a million of our boys overseas, it is safe to say that there is not one of those boys who does not long to hear of news from the United States aad especially from his own home community. A letter from Harry T. Hamilton, a son of Mrs. John Hamilton, of Indiana avenue, this city, bears out this statement very plainly.Harry Hamilton is a member of the United States Navy Aviation Corps, of which little is heard at this time, but a branch that is one of the most interesting in the service and one that is perform««tg hazardous feats in the extermination of militarism from the borders of civilization. Mr. Hamilton’s letter follows:Dear Mother: I received your letter last Tuesday and this is the first opportunity I have had to answer it. It certainly was a treat to hear from you and I read and re-read the letter several times. Your questions can be easily answered, for I am well and feeling fine and I hope you are In the same condition.Of all things, I am most anxious to know how things are In the United States. Of course I can not tell you much of the conditions over here, and then I can not tell of any of the “front line operations,” as I a.m not near them. . Outside of busy army and navy operations, things have not changed whatever. It’s useless for me to task whether Shelbyville and the county are doing their bit in the war, for I know they are. I have been expecting each day to meet someone from the home town, but such has not been my luck as yet. When I do I will let out one big yell, for it’s going to be a pleasing sight. I know there are a number over here from there,1 but I have not been in a position to see them.Scenes over here are wonderful,1 especially now with the great war preparations and I believe you would enjoy seing them, but you can wait jintil we come back and then you can hear the entire story. I must go now, for it is getting late and I have a few other things to do be-ifore going to bed. Love to all and 'give all my old friends my best regards. I hope you will write andtell me all the latest that is happening back there. Your son,HARRY T. HAMILTON.
