provu it.0n« JJ, II, Pollard has published a letter in the Milwaukee i\Vn?s, giving a very gloomy account of the condition of tilings at Corinth. lie states that there nro only 70 or 70 regiments in that vicinity , and that they number, in all, not over 20,000 men. An officer of the 8th regiment, having seen tho letter, pronounces it a basso fabrication.
