m * mHUGH FARRADYVOLUNTEERED HERE ELEVEN MONTHS AGO JOHN, AHROTIIER, HAS BEEN IN A FRENCH HOSPITAITHREATENED WITH•* lt;Frostburg, Md., Aug. 6--Mr. andMrs. John Farrady, Bowery street,were advised today by Adjutant Gen* out! Mr Cain that their soil, Hugh Far* ady. 29 vears old, a member of Com* pauV G. 'Thirty*Fighth Infantry, had been killed in action in France. Far-rady volunteered here last Labor Fay, or just eleven mouths ago. Farradywas a miner previous to entering the army. Besides his parents, he is survived by two brothers. John, also withthe army in Franco, and Thomas, Low cry street, Frostburg, and one sister, Mrs. Russell Hosken.Hugh Farrady recently wrote his parents here, saying in his letter thatJoseph Rooney was still with him Both men were volunteers and were placed in the regular army in NewYork State. They finished their train lng at Camp Greene. N. C.| in France, and his mother has just j been in receipt of the following inter* jesting letter, from a home girl:July 8, HUS.Dear Mrs. Farrady:You will be very much surprised t hear from me. 1 am writing to let you know that John is here at Base Ilos* ipital No. 1. It was a great surprise to ! me when one of the nurses told me ! that a soldier from my home town was * asking if I were here and gave me hisiniune.
