A midshipman who coludn’t r wait to get ashore jumped over- j board and swam in Tuesday j night -from the destroyer Rowe! which had just returned him from a summer cruise to Europe.The Naval .Academy has'con- ' finned the incident and said the first classman, Edward K. Stone of Honolulu, has been sent to Bethesda Nvoil Hospital for observation. Disciplinary action is pending'.Stone leaped overboard from the destroyer itowe and swam a mile and a half to Tolly Point, where he clambered ashore. He had tucked some clothing into a five-inch gun casing and pushed it along in front of him as he swam.
