Had Been Held A Prisoner By The Nazis Since February ’44iS/SGT. CH.A S. COLEMr, and Mrs. E. L. Cole of Midland have received a telegram from their son S Sgt. Charles O. (Pee Wee) Cole, stating that he has been liberated from a Nazi prison camp and is well and safe. He stated that he hoped to see them soon, but gave no particulars.S Sgt. Cole is 24 years of age.Ho was first reported missing in action on Feb. 25, 1944 after com-h ting 47 bombing missions somewhere over Germanv.He had seen action in Africa before being sent to Italy and had been there only two months when he was reported missing. His parents received word that he wai f a prsoners of the German govern-; ment on April 6, 1.944.
