Huachuea,Ariz., April 14.He was ‘trained in the preparation of military records and forms. Instruction was also given in fundamentals of the Army ill-log system, typing, and operation of office machines.Army Private Donald R. Buhr is assigned to Company E, 12th Battalion, 3rd Brigade, in the United States Army Training Center, Armor at Ft. Knox, Ky.Following the completion of his basic .training, Pvt. Buhr, who is the eon of Mr. and Mrs. Herman H. Buhr, ol Route 1, Sumner, will receive at least an additional eight weeks of either advanced instruction or on-the-job ■training to qualify him in a specialized military skill.Mr. and Mrs. Lavern A. Meier and Del win received a telephone call from their son and brother, Sp. 4 La wain Meier, who has been on rest and recuperation leave in Waikiki, Hawaii for one week.After his leave Sp. 4 Meier was scheduled to return to duty at Vietnam, where he is serving with the 11th ArmoredCalvary Regiment.He was active in Operation Cedar Falls and was in combat in War Zone C near the Cambodian border recently.
