Rae Furlong, commandant of Pearl Harbor, an opportunity to visit his mother, Mrs. Ethel Furlong, at her hum? in Roscoe this morning.He declared he was emoute from Pearl Harbor, where he is executive offict-r in charge of the naval base, to Washington.•Til be here in Koscoe only a few hours. I left Pearl Harbor to go to Washington an naval business and am simply passing thru.A stopover of m plane gave me the opporlunity to come up home and see Mother. After the Washington trip I am directly returning to Pearl Harbor. said Admiral Furlong, who is still Rescue's No. 1 citizen although he has lived in Washington, and more recently Pearl Harbor, for many years.*'Sav hello to everyone. I‘m always glad to be home,” he said as he sac with hu mother in their home this morning. Mrs. Furlong conducted a Ko*clt;e drug store and i? a member of one of the Monongahela valley's oldest ' pioneer families.Adm Furlong looked trim and fit. Ho stopped for a shore time in Mon-onguhela to visit with Pi. and Mrs. G. K. Murphy, parents of Lt. Thomas Murphy, his aide.
