On the twentieth anniversary of the day they left Cedar Rapids for active service in the United States army, April26. 3898, the members of the S. L. Dows | camp, Spanish War Veterans, held a j reunion Friday evening-.The occasion was planned as a surprise and farewell to Julius F. Sorensen, wno with his family is moving to Norwich, Conn., Mr. Sorenson was surprised at the home of John J. Wagner. by tlie members of the camp and their wives. The evening was spent, for the most part, in recounting the old i times and experiences of twenty years I p.go. Late in the evening, the baskets brought by the wives of members of the camp were opened, and a delicious lunch was served. At the close of the evening, Almon S Reed made a ' short speech of farewell, and presented Mr Sorensen with a pair of gold cuff; links, as a token of the esteem of the ' members of the camp.
