Captain McKinnon, flying a Martin Bomber, and Lieutenant Lutsenheiser, flying a Boeing P-26, were here Tuesday and Wednesday, making a preliminary survey. - ■ §Lieutenant Edge of the U. S. Coast Guard, flying a Douglas Amphibian,! stopped here for weather reports, en-! route to the east coaet from the fac-tory at Santa Monica.Louis B. Mayer arrived at the Palm j Springs Airport Friday in Wallace Beery’s new Bellanca Skyrorket, piloted by Wayne Bateman. The new plane is the last word in modern air-craft, having the latest devices for blind flying, and other new gadgets.Mr. and Mrs. Peter Brooks flew here Friday in their two smart cabin planes, and spent the week-end in theJ Village. **Ralph LaCoe has made several trips between San Diego and Palm Springs during the past week in his sport I Travelair. Mr. Fuller, however, stated , he knew of no airport which needed hangar facilities more than the local! port.
